Nobama

Okay, I was going to write a bunch of hopefully intellectual stuff that would express my feelings and opinions regarding the election of Barack Obama and how afraid I am of America's future. But, deep in the core of my being, God spoke to me this truth from a message by David Wilkerson delivered at Times Square Church in NYC.

"I think of Christ's breakthrough prayer as the "ultimate prayer." By ultimate I mean the end of a series. Think of it: by this point, everything had been tried. Now came the ultimate, or final, prayer, the one that would move mountains and shake hell. It is simply this: "Nevertheless not as I will, but as thou wilt." Jesus gets up from pleading and says, in essence, "I have prayed, wept, fasted, done everything. Now, Father, I unload my soul to you, in total trust. Your will be done." Have you every prayed this ultimate prayer" over a situation? "Lord, I have prayed, fasted and interceded over this matter. I have asked, knocked, sought and believed. Yet what is happening now is not what I want. In fact, I don't think I can handle it. But you are the Almighty God, and I cast everything into your hands. Now, Father, do what you want to do, when you choose to do it. I rest in your promises to me."

Reader, it is going to be okay. God is still in control and there is nothing Obama or anyone can do without His allowing it. God is, and always will be, our Father, who loves us and will take care of us. Pray this prayer, let go, lean, listen, and obey.

Pineapple, anyone?

Everyone is saying how happy they will be when the election is over so that we won't have to watch political news and listen to all the campaign banter anymore. Me too! But then we'll have to listen to how the new guy is doing - I'm really ready for a tropical island paradise with no one allowed except for whom I choose to be there.
